Serious Update

Well, the past 6 weeks have been beyond insane.  The rollercoaster I was on was nothing compared to what came next.  Katy ISD finally made the decision the fourth week of school to move me to a different elementary school in the district.  Since this blog is pseudo-public, I will be careful what I say, but let's just say this:  the transition was not easy.  Going from the perfect situation at the ideal school for me to a completely new place that I wasn't hired by was not easy at all.  In fact, it has probably been one of (if not the) hardest thing I've ever done.  I just didn't click right away.  Coming in after a couple weeks of school, there wasn't time to train me, introduce me, or really do much of anything to ease the transition.  After two days of moving to the new school and attempting to re-set up an entire first grade classroom, I received 18 6-year olds.  They were moved out of their previous class and into mine, which was a transition for everyone.  Luckily, it was much easier for them than it was for me.  The new school is completely different.  I still struggle with it, but it's getting easier, and I'm starting to feel more at home there.

I feel like that paragraph doesn't do it justice, but I guess it's just time to move forward. I do love my kiddos, but first grade is tough! These kids are crazy in every way.  I wish I could convey their antics in mere stories, but it's so difficult!

Here is a glimpse of my classroom, now that it is finally set up:

That's enough blogging for now. I'm off to watch the Baylor - A&M Game.  Sic Em!
